Munich Airport is significantly removed from the city. But still it will not be difficult for you to get to the center, because public transport runs regularly.

Munich

The distance from Munich Franz Josef Strauß Airport (Flughafen München "Franz Josef Strauß") to the center of the capital is about 40 kilometers - about 35-40 minutes drive. Easy to get to: the most convenient way, according to experienced tourists, is the S-Bahn city train.

By city train

City train S1

From the airport to the center of Munich, there are trains S1 and S8. Which one to choose is up to you. It depends on where you live. S1 runs along the western part of the Bavarian capital; The distance from Munich Airport to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is 45 minutes. S8 follows through the eastern part of the city, the road to the railway station takes 41 minutes. Electric trains run at intervals of 20 minutes, from 4:00 to 1:30. On both lines you will arrive in the city center. If you do not need to go to intermediate stations, choose at least S1, at least S8.
