The 10 best hostels in Rome

Rome is one of the most beautiful and at the same time the most expensive cities in the world. Prices for more or less decent hotels here start from 80-100 euros per day for a 2-bed room, and in the city center accommodation is even more expensive.

But what if your budget is limited, and I really want to touch the cultural heritage of mankind?

I’ll warn you right away that this the review is more suitable for students and young people under 30 years old. If you have crossed this age line or are traveling with your family with children, the option to stay in a hostel should be considered the last.
Overnight at the hostel involves some hardships, which we are less prepared for as we grow older and develop. You will have to get about the cheapest accommodation options for about 1-1.5 hours by public transport, and the prices for the cheapest options from 7-10 euros per night are relevant when placed in rooms of 10 people. Yes, other travelers will see Roman dreams in your room besides you. To rent a hostel in the center of Rome will cost you already 15-25 euros per day per person, which is also relatively inexpensive.
At the same time, there are pluses, which I will discuss below.

I present to you an overview of the top 10, in my opinion, hostels in Rome. We will consider accommodation options with the help of our friends from booking.com, the largest hostel aggregator in the world. Unlike other reservation systems, there is an option to book a whole room, and not just the place in the room.

I advise you to read:

If there are no places in the hostel you like, I advise you to check the possibility of booking in other systems, for example, not many people know that Booking.com also has a special section on hostels.

  1. PLUS Camping Village Roma - strongly I recommend this place to fans of noisy parties.

He himself celebrated a bachelor party there in 2013, since then I advise everyone. Breakfast is not included in the price, but they are inexpensive, from 5 euros, there is a pool, billiards and a disco. Here, for the sake of communication and separation, even the Romans themselves often settle for a couple of days, but they know a lot about this!

Accommodation options are twin deluxe, which can comfortably accommodate 2 people, there are 4 and 6-seater mobile houses with a bathroom and a kitchenette, there are also tents. You can come in your own house (if any) and park it on the territory of the camping hostel. Ideal place for a big fun company. Nearby there is a super market where you can buy everything you need.

The location is beautiful, to the Colosseo, the Trevi Fountain (fontana di Trevi) and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore (basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore) no more than 20 minutes walk. Comfortable rooms with air conditioning and shower, the ability to cook on their own in a well-equipped kitchen and breakfast on the terrace - a small women's paradise.

The hostel is very neat, the interior is decorated with mosaics, as the name implies. The rooms are equipped with air conditioning and bathrooms (not all, the dormitory rooms have a bathroom in the hallway), there is Wi-Fi. The price includes a continental breakfast. The hostel is equipped with a video surveillance system, which provides a good level of security.
