How to get from Malpensa airport to the center of Milan

Malpensa Airport (MXP, Aeroporto di Milano-Malpensa) is located 54 kilometers from Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale). You can get to Milan by bus for 8 euros or by express train for 13 euros. Taxi will cost 95 euros. In detail about the features of each method, read the instructions.

By bus

Terravision buses run from Malpensa Airport to Milan without stopping; the journey takes about 50 minutes.

I advise you to buy a ticket in advance on the official website www.terravision.eu or upon arrival. It’s very convenient that you can take a bus on a ticket issued online that leaves from both the first and second terminals.

By train

Every 30 minutes, a special express train (MALPENSA EXPRESS) leaves for Milan from Milan's first and second terminals. Travel time to the center of Milan is about an hour.

  • Ticket price: 13 euros - adult, 6.5 euros - for children from 4 to 14 years old, free of charge - for children under 4 years old. A family ticket (Malpensa Family) for 2 adults and 2 children from 4 to 17 years old will cost 33 euros. Bicycle transportation costs 3 euros.
The ticket is valid for three hours after the time specified in the reservation. If you suddenly do not have time for the train, do not worry, calmly take the next one. You can buy a ticket after delivery at the ticket office or at the terminal, and also issue it in advance online at the official website www.malpensaexpress.it

The train stops at Bovisa, Porta Garibaldi, Milano Centrale stations, and a separate line takes you to Milano Cadorna station in 37 minutes, next to which is Castello Sforzesco castle, good shopping and many restaurants.

How to save

Hotels nearby

At the airport there is a modern and comfortable 4-star Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel. The cost of living from 155 euros per day.

Comfortable beds, good breakfasts - great for a change in Milan.

A more budgetary and rather unique alternative is the capsule hotel ZZZleepandGo MXP, which operates in a fully automatic mode and costs only 49 euros per day per person. Where else to go from Malpensa

You can get from Malpensa by public transport to Bergamo, Genoa, Turin, Lake Como and even Switzerland.

In bergamo
